Sterling's assessor has personally completed more than 300 mold inspections since January 2026 across the Treasure Coast and Palm Beach County. The practice is growing, and the constraint on growth is finding people who will hold the standard when nobody is checking.

A current Florida licence
A mold assessor (MRSA) licence under Chapter 468, Part XVI, in good standing and verifiable on the DBPR portal. Home-inspection or building-science credentials alongside it are a plus, not a substitute.
Comfort with the assessment-only model
Sterling never sells remediation. If your income has always come from finding work to quote, this is a genuinely different job — the fee is the same whether you find a problem or rule one out.
Diagnostic instinct, not pattern-matching
Mold is a moisture problem. The work is tracing where water actually comes from — HVAC condensation, envelope, roof, plumbing, slab — rather than photographing discolouration and recommending a tear-out.
Writing that holds up
Reports get read by buyers, sellers, adjusters, contractors, and occasionally attorneys. Findings need to be specific, defensible, and free of both hedging and hype.
No portal, no application form.
