Post-Remediation Verification

Independent clearance after remediation is complete.

Short answer

Post-remediation verification (PRV), or clearance, is an independent check performed after remediation to confirm the work area is visibly clean, dry, and consistent with the remediation protocol. Sterling performs a visual assessment, moisture checks, and — when specified — clearance sampling, as a party that did not perform the remediation being verified.

What this service investigates

  • Whether the work area is visibly clean and dry
  • Whether conditions meet the remediation protocol
  • Whether clearance sampling criteria are satisfied

Who needs it

  • Owners confirming remediation was completed properly
  • Remediation contractors who need independent clearance
  • Buyers, sellers, and attorneys needing documentation
  • Property managers closing out a moisture event
  • Florida Licensed Mold Assessor
  • Insured · GL + E&O
  • Independent · Assessment-Only
  • 10+ Years Experience

What's included — and what isn't

Clear scope, honestly stated.

Included

  • Independent visual verification of the remediated area
  • Moisture confirmation to check the area is dry
  • Clearance sampling when the protocol specifies it
  • A written verification report

Not included

  • Performing or having performed the remediation being verified
  • A guarantee against any future moisture event
  • Certifying a property "completely safe"
Sampling is one tool within a broader investigation — not a substitute for finding the moisture source. We recommend it only when it will answer a real question.

Building science

Where Florida homes hide moisture.

Explore the zones we investigate on every inspection. Finding and correcting the moisture source is what actually resolves a mold problem — and prevents it from returning.

Attic & roof deck

High risk

Warm, humid air rises and condenses on cool roof sheathing. Bath fans venting into the attic and undersized ventilation drive recurring growth here.

Methods & equipment

  • Independent visual verification
  • Moisture confirmation
  • Clearance sampling (when specified)

What you receive

  • Written post-remediation verification report
  • Any clearance laboratory results

Typical timing

Verification is performed on-site once remediation is complete and the area is dry; any lab results depend on the laboratory.

Pricing

Cost depends on the size of the work area and whether clearance sampling is specified. Request an estimate.

FAQ

Post-Remediation Verification — questions

It is an independent check, after remediation, that the work area is visibly clean, dry, and consistent with the remediation protocol — ideally performed by someone other than the company that did the remediation.
